It is our aim to build strong, caring relationships with all whanau who attend our preschool. Whanau involvement is actively sought, encouraged and welcomed.
We acknowledge the concept of ako. We learn something new every day , from each other, our tamariki, whanau and community. We are all learners.
We believe that every tamaiti needs to know that they are special and unique. We value, respect and celebrate the different cultures that make up our centre. We will nurture the relationships that we have with all of our whanau and tamariki, building trust so that they know that their hurt feelings count, their sadness is comforted, their joy is shared and their accomplishments are valued.
We believe that quality early childhood education equips tamariki with the skills and dispositions to start them on their journey of lifelong learning. To provide quality early childhood education we will only employ fully qualified and registered kaiako. Guided by high expectations coupled with the knowledge that all tamariki learn in their own time, space and ways, our preschool kaiako will provide our tamariki with a broad range of fun, educational opportunities that will help each tamaiti learn to the best of his or her ability. As kaiako we will embrace our role in providing a nurturing environment that encourages the development of the individual interests of each tamaiti.
We believe that happy tamariki are able to learn at the optimum level of engagement. As tamariki move through stages of play, they need to be guided towards socially acceptable behaviours. We believe that tamariki need to feel safe to explore their world and try new things. Children need to be children. They need to play, pretend, discover and embrace this amazing time in their lives.
